SIENA, is a magnificent city of art with characteristic alleys, wards and towers, craft shops and buildings that make it a must for Italian and foreign tourists.

It is the city famous for its PALIO, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique artistic heritage.
The old town is dominated by the PIAZZA DEL CAMPO, one of the largest medieval squares, shell-shaped, theater of the famous PALIO.
Here there are monuments of great value as the PUBLIC PALACE, a jewel of Gothic art and the CIVIC MUSEUM; CHAPEL SQUARE, surmounted by the TORRE DEL MANGIA and the wonderful FONTE GAIA by Jacopo della Quercia (actually in the square is a reproduction, while the remains of the original are preserved in the rich museum complex of Santa Maria della Scala).

Numerous are the art treasures of the city including the DUOMO, one of the highest achievements of Romanesque-Gothic art, full of sculptures, paintings and architecture, the MUSEO dell'OPERA METROPOLITANA which contains masterpieces by famous artists such as Duccio Ambrogio Lorenzetti, Taddeo di Bartolo; the imposing MEDICI FORTRESS in red bricks, commissioned by Cosimo I in mid-century. XVI; the elegant Loggia della Mercanzia, architectural transition from Gothic to Renaissance.


The beautiful and unique landscapes of the province offer endless possibilities for walking, cycling or riding or trekking in different environments: in the clay soil of Crete, in the many forests and the hills.
The greediest can follow the paths of taste, through vineyards, olive groves and small villages with stops at farms and wine bars to taste the typical products and the excellent local wines.


The territory offers five WINES DOCG: Chianti Classico, Chianti Colli Senesi, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Brunello di Montalcino, the first wine in Italy to be able to boast the DOCG and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
